Albert Svor
with Sylvia and Friends
-
Albert Svor (1912-2006)
Albert was a musician. He played fiddle at barn dances. Literally. There is more. This is music for real - mostly Norwegian folk music and songs. Sylvia Svor (1916-1997) was Albert's sister. She sings on a couple of the songs in the original Norwegian spoken by the immigrants to Minnesota.
His CD "Family and Friends" was compiled in 2002 from three sessions: one with Olen and Sylvia; in practice for Norfjord Log with Edward Mitteness and a session from the Lyslo Family Reunion in 1998.
We will be making Albert's CD available soon. Meanwhile, enjoy some traditional Norwegian music.
